As the year starts to wrap up, we've got important news to share!
Staffing Updates
😔 Departing Staff
Maja Popovic
Maja has been on staff for over 6 years and whilst only ever working in a casual capacity, has had significant impact on the service, specifically in the areas of inclusion and behaviour management.
In 2021, Maja started the process of inclusion support and improving our behaviour management. This process is long and arduous, requiring significant time and effort to get off the ground. Since then, we've been granted funding for inclusion support and better equipped our team to manage challenging behaviours.
Beyond this, Maja has been a treasured and valued member of our Jambo OSHC community, often inspiring learners through D&D, fascinating videos, classic scavenger hunts and her highly successful walking club. Maja recently completed her Masters in Speech Pathology, and so while we are sad to see her depart, we know her invaluable skills will be greatly appreciated in the speech pathology world.
Meg Walker
Meg has been on staff for nearly 4 years, and during her time has been a ray of shining light to so many. Her bright and fun personality has often been so encouraging and uplifting for so many younger learners. Whether at the junior playground playing a game, at the craft table inspiring creativity, or chilling with kids telling them puns and jokes, Meg has been a reliable and joyful educator to have on our team. We'll miss her (and her wizard level of fast filing) as she goes on to pursue her career in social work!
Brenton Foster
Brenton joined our team just over 2 years ago, and has had a big impact - especially around quality and compliance.
Brenton has worked closely with the leadership team to undertake the lengthy process of updating what's known as a 'Quality Improvement Plan'. This is the main document that helps us ensure we are compliant, but also striving to achieve the highest quality of care we can offer families. Brenton has spent countless hours hours inputting close to 300 pages of data, information and improvement plans, as well as collaborating with staff to bring our training up to a higher level.
But in the playground, Brenton is better known as the walking playground. Brenton is held in high regard by many learners, who love his passion for the outdoors and sports.
