Term 2 Snapshot: Staff Updates, GOTCHA Champions & More!

Updated: Jun 26

All the important and fun stuff from Term 2 ✨

🙌 Celebrating Staff!

👋 Stepping back from Educational Leader - Annabelle

Annabelle joined in mid-2024 to take over Educational Leader - and oh boy did she make a splash! With her bubbly and joyful personality, Annabelle brought to the table many positive changes. Namely, she changed the after school routine to suit the now large service we are, as well as implementing and trialling wet play, afternoon excursions and other fun activities! Annabelle is refocusing her priorities towards her golf career, so you'll see her a little less but she will still be sure to make her presence known! All the best Annabelle! 🏌️‍♀️

🌱 New Educational Leaders - Dom & Sara

Taking over from Annabelle is the amazing Dom & Sara!

Many of you are hopefully familiar with Dom - who has been an RP for nearly 2 years now. Dom is studying Education, so this, combined with her enthusiasm to see the service improve and her passion for engaging learners, made her a perfect choice for the role.

Sara is a little fresher to the OSHC industry, but is already taking great initiative to see a positive culture fostered at OSHC. Sara currently champions our GOTCHA program with great pride as well as being a proactive and bright personality who always takes the initiative!

We're excited to see them flourish in these new positions! Please be sure to support them in their journey.

New Responsible Person - Stephanie

Steph is a proactive and fun member of our team who is stepping up into the RP role. You've likely already met Steph either running around in the Prep playground or while picking your kids up from the room, as she loves a good chat!

🏆 GOTCHA Champions!

You may recall that we implemented GOTCHA's in Term 1. Since then, we've seen a huge shift in culture with a super strong uptake of GOTCHA's by learners.

🤟Year 6 Senior's Program - The half way mark!

Each year we run our now highly popular Senior's Program for Year 6! This program, established in 2019, has continued to provide Year 6's with opportunities to prepare themselves for the real world. Whether catching a bus, cooking a meal or understanding exchanging money, Senior's Program is not only fun and exciting, but an excellent tool for preparing students for high school! And somehow we are already at the half way mark of the year! Here are some pictures of the fun we've had so far.

❓Did You Know? Staff Professional Development

The team engage with videos, third party voices or each other to collaborate and grow in their skills.
The team engage with videos, third party voices or each other to collaborate and grow in their skills.

At the beginning of the year, we identified a gap in staff professional development. This can impact on how we work as a team, how we understand students and how we communicate. To improve this, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we now engage staff in a 30min professional development session. This can include a range of topics such as understanding trauma or neurodiversity, activity and games planning, emergency preparedness, behaviour management and team building and many other things!

🪩Term 2 Clubs + Fun!

In Term 2, we ran some of the most engaging clubs we've ever had! Clubs are an excellent way for us to provide an opportunity for learners to build a skill over time and see their hard work pay off. So often we see learners walk away with a new passion and set of skills because of the wonderful effort and excitement the team bring to these hobbies.
